The academic program at YCCS McKinley Lakeside Leadership Academy places an emphasis on every aspect of student growth and development, while meeting state requirements. Suitable class sizes and exceptional, qualified teachers allow us to offer a comfortable and inclusive educational environment, while ensuring each student receives the individualized attention and support they need.

GENERAL CURRICULUM
Students need only 18 credit hours to graduate! This included the following credits: English (4), math (3), science (2) and social studies (2).
DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES
Through our partnership with the Dual Enrollment Program at the City Colleges of Chicago, select high-school juniors and seniors are allowed to enroll in college courses through one of the seven City Colleges. Students may enroll in one college course per semester. Course instruction occurs on the city colleges campuses.
DUAL CREDIT COURSES
Through a partnership with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and City Colleges of Chicago, high school students can take courses for both high school graduation credit and college credit, free of charge. Courses are weighted as advanced placement courses and can enhance the G.P.A. of the students. These class take place on the school's campus.
